Description
Originally from Truro and raised in Middleton, Rob Grant built a foundation in sport early, competing for the MRHS hockey team before going on to become the valedictorian of his graduating class at COGS in 1986. But it was in the world of triathlon, where grit meets endurance, that Rob would carve out a remarkable athletic journey. Since 2016, he has completed ten Half Ironmans and five Full Ironmans, racing on some of the most demanding courses in North America. From Victoria to Arizona to the Ironman World Championship in Utah, Rob has met each challenge with quiet tenacity and heart.
Rob’s story isn’t just about finishing races; it’s about helping others start theirs. Since 2019, he has coached fellow athletes toward their own goals, fostering growth, confidence, and success in the sport he loves. Under his guidance, his athletes have gone on to win provincial titles, qualify for the ITU World Championships, and compete on the world stage at both Half and Full Ironman Championships.
More than a competitor, Rob is a mentor and motivator. He leads not with ego, but with encouragement, always invested in the potential of others, and always grounded in a deep respect for the process. His dedication to personal excellence and the success of those around him embodies the spirit of sport at its very best.
The Sports Heritage Wall of Fame is proud to welcome Robert “Rob” Grant as a truly deserving Athlete Inductee.
