After graduating from Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro, Carman began his teaching and coaching career in 1975 at B.C. Silver Junior High School in Halifax where he coached both boys and girls basketball for three years. In 1979 he moved back to the Annapolis Valley where he substituted for a few years before settling in for the remainder of his teaching career at Middleton Regional High School in the early 1980\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Once ensconced at MRHS, Carman soon resumed his coaching career that would span over two decades. His coaching specialties would lie in soccer, basketball and track and field, especially the running events. In the early to mid-1980\u2019s he coached Junior Girls Basketball before switching to the Senior Girls through to 1990. Throughout the 1980\u2019s, Carman coached the Senior Girls Soccer at MRHS as well as Track and Field, which he continued into the 1990\u2019s often with Gail Elmore, Aubrey Morris and Allan Mosher as CoCoaches. He took a hiatus from coaching for a few years to follow the hockey adventures of his two sons. In the late 1990\u2019s he coached Club or Summer Soccer both Male and Female in Middleton. From 2002 to 2005 Carman co-coached Senior Girls Soccer with Greg Bower and Karla Britney.<\/p>\n
Even after retiring from teaching in 2005, Carman continued co-coaching Senior Girls Soccer with Karla Britney until 2009. The Sports Heritage Wall of Fame is honoured to welcome Carman Toole as a most deserving inductee in the Builder category.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Carman Toole was born in Middleton. Growing up as an AirForce kid, he lived in Europe and many other locales before settling in the Greenwood area long enough for Carman to graduate from West Kings.
