On January 22, 1994, twenty teams took to the curling lanes in Liverpool vying for the Nova Scotia Masters title for men over 60 years of age. On the final day, Tuesday, January 25, it was looking good for the Kentville foursome undefeated at 5 and 0 pitted against the Byrne Rink at 4-1 and facing elimination. In a game that see-sawed back and forth, they were all tied at 6-6 to force an extra end. Middleton then squeaked out the 7 to 6 victory to force
\nanother match. In the finals, with the momentum all going their way, the Byrne Rink routed the team out of Glooscap 11 to 1, which they conceded after the sixth end, for Middleton\u2019s Nova Scotia Masters Curling Championship.
\nA month later the Middleton rink was off to the Maritime Championship in Sydney, Cape Breton. After losing their opening game they got it together the rest of the way to go undefeated. In their final match against Charlottetown, P.E.I., Middleton was one up coming home, allowing them to forgo throwing the last rock.
\nTo date this is the only Middleton team to win a Maritime Curling
