Description
In 2008 she began an outstanding five-year run on the Cape Breton University Capers Volleyball Team and made the Atlantic University Sport All Star Rookie Team. In 2009 Vanessa was AUS 2nd Team All Star and a member of the 4th place Team Nova Scotia at the Canada Games. In 2010 she was elevated to the AUS 1st Team All Star, earning an invite to the National Team Tryouts. In 2011 she was again an AUS 1st Team All Star followed once more in 2012 while Captain of the CBU Capers and selected as Canadian University Sport 2nd Team All Canadian. In addition in 2012 Vanessa was 2nd in AUS with 211 Kills, 3rd in Hits with 310, 1st in Blocks with 82 and 5th in CUS Points with 279.5 .
Entering the Canadian Armed Forces in 2014 she continued to excel with six straight years as the Starting Middle on the National Team, earning trips to CSIM World Championships in 2014 and 2017 and two Military World Games in 2015 and 2019. In 2016 Vanessa was Captain of her Base Valcartier Team and MVP at both Regionals and Nationals. In 2017 she was her Base team Player/Coach and an All Star at Nationals.
