Description
In Grade 9 she was the starting point guard for the Senior Girls team and helped them to a Silver at NSSAF Provincials, losing to Hants East in a hard fought final. Her Junior Soccer team that year after winning 9 of 10 games lost in the Regional Final but laid the groundwork for success in Senior High. She was MRHS Junior Female Athlete of the Year in Grade 9.
Over her senior years Jennifer was dominant in basketball Division II, and named MRHS Most Outstanding Player in Grade 11 and 12. In Grade 11 her teams won Silver in Volleyball and Bronze in Soccer at NSSAF’s. In her graduating year Jenn, a left-footed Striker, led her Division II team to MRHS’s first ever NSSAF Soccer Championship, and she was named MRHS Senior Female Athlete of the Year. Her peers in the Grad Poll selected her “Most likely to play a professional sport”.
After graduation in 1997 Jennifer enrolled at Mount Allison University where she starred in Basketball over her four year career. Her team twice won the ACCA Championship earning them a berth in the CCAA Finals in Calgary and Medicine Hat. Jennifer was awarded both All Conference Honours and All Canadian Honours at Mount A.
After graduation she remained active athletically by playing soccer and competing in marathons and triathlons. The Sports Heritage Wall of Fame is honoured to welcome Jennifer Klein as a most deserving Athlete.
