Description
Besides individual sports Eileen has made her mark as a valuable Team member in both Soccer and Floor Hockey. Her Soccer Team since 2003 have won 5 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal playing Provincially while her Floor Hockey Team for Annapolis/Shelburne won Gold in 2015.
It is however in Cross Country Skiing that Eileen has really shone as an Athlete. In 2007 at a Qualifying Meet in New Brunswick she showed great potential with a Silver in the 100m and a Bronze in 500m. The following year at Nationals in Quebec City, Quebec, she proceeded to win 2 Gold Medals to qualify for the World Special Olympics in Idaho, USA. At the WSO Eileen won a Gold in 500m and a Relay, and a Bronze in 1 km. Quite the World Champion! At Nationals in 2012 in St. Albert, Alberta she won Silver in 100m and Bronze in both 500 m and 1 km. Provincially in 2015 she won Gold in 100m and Silver in 500m. At Nationals in Corner Brook in Newfoundland and Labrador she won Silver in 100m.
Eileen Ramsey-Prosser has overcome many obstacles to gain prominence in the field of sports over the years.
The Sports Heritage Wall of Fame is honoured to welcome her as a most deserving Athlete Inductee.
