The Middleton Senior Men’s Curling team were the not-so-gracious hosts for the 1967 Provincial Championship. Feeling right home on Middleton ice, the Meb Armstrong skipped rink defeated their opposition in six straight matches.
Along with Skip Armstrong on the victorious Middleton Rink were mate Gordon Goucher, second Fred Smith and lead C.D. MacLean . En-route to the Championship game were a few games that were not decided until the final end when the Middleton quartet bore down to claim victory with some great shot-making.
In the final game against Wolfville, Middleton took the lead in the second end and never looked back in their 8-4 victory.
Later in the spring, the four Middleton men were impressive, albeit in a losing cause, at the Canadian Senior Men’s Championships held in Montreal. Never-the-less, they had made their club, and indeed all sports fans in the central Valley area, proud of their achievement
