At Eden Golf and Country Club she served often as Chair on numerous committees, founder and co-chair with husband Earl of Paradise Classic Ladies Tournament and Eden’s major fund raiser the Eden Mixed Classic along with the Friday Night Mixed play and social, Linda served as Treasurer and Director from 1998-06, updated the club by-laws and began the club monthly newsletter “Eden Expressions”. From her beginning at Eden in 1992 she took courses through to 2008 across Canada to obtain her Royal Canadian Golf Association Level IV Rules certification.
With the Nova Scotia Ladies Golf Association from 1993 she served again in various capacities including Valley Zone Director, Secretary, Interim Executive Director until its amalgamation into the Nova Scotia Golf Association after having written the bylaws in 2005.With the NSGA, Linda served as Vice President and Rules Director(2007-10) conducting courses for Rules Officials. As a Rules Official, she had officiated Provincial tournaments from Yarmouth to Cape Breton and all points in between as well as Atlantic and Canadian Tournaments in New Minas (2), Windsor, Baddeck and Mill River, PEI.
Golf enthusiasts not just locally but throughout the Province are indebted to Linda for her outstanding work over the past two decades. Linda (Daurie) Bennett is a most deserving inductee into the Sports Heritage Wall of Fame.
