Description
Earl was a catalyst for the expansion at Eden serving in various capacities from 1995-99: Finance Committee and Ways and Means for fund raising, project coordinator and invaluable member of the Project Construction committee ( spelled “grunt”). He, along with wife Linda, was founder and co-chair of the Paradise Classics Ladies Tournament and Eden’s major fund raiser the Eden Mixed Classic, along with the Friday night mixed play and social. From 1999 to 2006 Earl was treasurer at Eden.
He took courses in various locals across Canada to obtain his Royal Canadian Golf Association Level IV Rules certification in 2008. This enabled Earl to serve as a Rules Official for the Nova Scotia Golf Association throughout the Province which he has done since 2006. He has also served as a Rules Official for an Atlantic Championship in Baddeck and a Canadian Junior Championship in Bridgewater. From 2006 to 2010 Earl served as Secretary-Treasure for NSGA.
Golf enthusiasts not just locally but throughout the Province are indebted to Earl for his outstanding work over the past seventeen years. Earl Bennett is a most deserving inductee into the Sports Heritage Wall of Fame.
