Description
In 1973 Adrien moved to Middleton and was soon immersed in all aspects of sports. For over thirty years he held down every conceivable position at Middleton and District Arena. Adrien coached at every level from Novice, through Atom, Peewee, Bantam, Midget and High School for over twenty years. He spent three years as Trainer for Bantam AAA and Major Midget Teams. In minor hockey his teams twice advanced to Provincials capturing a Silver and Bronze. With M.R.H.S. Blues his teams advanced all four years to High School Provincials earning Adrien Coach of the Year Award twice! He has spent over 25 years as local skate sharpener “par excellence”, refereed hockey over ten years, spent may years on the Rink Commission including four years as Chairman.
On the fields of summer, Adrien coached and umpired. He coached minor baseball over 11 years from T.Ball through to Midget guiding his team to a third place finish at Midget Provincials. He umpired both baseball and softball over five years.
Adrien completed a successful twenty-five year career as linesman with Nova Scotia Power prior to retirement. Even into his sixties, Adrien was still competing in Seniors hockey in Middleton.
