He has also instructed and assisted at numerous hockey schools, camps and clinics in the Valley and Metro areas.
As owner/operator of Fundy Ford Sales and Samwood Holdings Ltd, Bill has donated his expertise in many administrative capacities for hockey. He has served as President, Vice President, Development and Co-ordinator, and Director, both in Middleton and Western Valley.
Along with his notability in hockey and business circles Bill is even better known in Middleton for his own “Rink”. Beginning in 1989 with a 40 by 20 foot area it has grown, through countless hours of effort over two decades, to its present 200 by 100 foot Olympic sized dimensions! Equipped with lights, a tractor for snow clearing, the local arena’s old Zamboni, it now boasts Bill’s own “Samboni” or flooding unit!
He has twice been nominated as Volunteer of the Year. The youth of this area have been well served by Bill Sampson’s coaching, instructing, administering minor hockey and most importantly providing a first class venue for them to hone their skating and hockey skills.
